Mental Health Counselor/Substance Use Disorder Professional

Jamestown Healing Clinic (JHC) is accepting applications for a full-time Substance Use Disorder Professional to join our growing team!

The Mental Health Counselor/Substance Use Disorder Professional at the Jamestown Healing Clinic (JHC) will be highly skilled in counseling, offering services such as assessment, individual counseling, group facilitation, treatment planning, case management, and proficient crisis intervention abilities. This role will also extend its services to patients dealing with substance abuse disorders, providing comprehensive individual and group therapy for both mental health and substance use disorder patients. The professional will collaborate within a team at an integrated care clinic, encompassing primary care, dental, behavioral health, and opiate use disorder treatment.

Mental Health Counselor/SUD Professional
Essential Functions
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for patients in distress
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure coordinated care
  • Develop and update individualized treatment plans
  • Educate patients and families about mental health and available resources
  • Conduct assessments and screenings for substance use disorders
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Create a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
  • Stay current with evidence-based practices
  • Facilitate psycho-educational groups
  • Provide specialized treatment for dual diagnoses
  • Maintain accurate documentation
  • Adhere to clinic policies, including safety and HIPAA regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a mental health discipline (LMHC, LMHCA, LMFT, LMFTA, LASW, or LICSW)
  • Substance use disorder professional certification or Co-occurring specialist enhancement
  • Unrestricted Washington state license
  • Two years of mental health treatment experience
  • Knowledge of psychology, behavioral disorders, and assessment methods
  • Experience with patients having substance use disorders
  • Ability to integrate harm-reduction strategies
  • Understanding of trauma, cultural context, and confidentiality regulations
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Effective time management and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
  • Understands and adheres to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR part 2). Must be able to conduct self ethically and professionally
  • Able to pass a background check
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to complete employer-provided training
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of office administrative operations, including personnel management, and compliance
