Jamestown Healing Clinic (JHC) is accepting applications for a full-time Substance Use Disorder Professional to join our growing team!

The Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) will work as part of a team for an integrated care clinic that combines primary care, dental, behavioral health, and opiate use disorder treatment. SUDP will facilitate individual, family, and group counseling for patients participating in the Opioid Treatment Program (OTP).

The Jamestown Healing Clinic (JHC) is a new integrated care clinic that will be opening Spring 2022. JHC will provide comprehensive patient care including an opioid treatment program, primary care, dental, substance abuse disorder counseling, and behavioral health. As a SUD Professional, you will:
  • Provide direct counseling and case management services to assigned patients consisting of individual, group, family; and educational services, including assessment, counseling, and aftercare services
  • Serve as a mediator between patients, relatives, medical staff, and outside agencies
  • Prepare patient progress reports and completion notices and provide to all interfacing agencies to include courts, probation departments, and referral sources as appropriate
  • Ensure compliance and implementation of all JHC policies and treatment procedures; maintain patient confidentiality
  • Effectively orient patients to the facility; provide patients with program guidelines, compliance information including patient rights, grievances, policies, and procedures
  • Identify and respond to crises that may negatively impact treatment and, where possible, uses the negative events to enhance treatment efforts
  • Lead discussions and present lectures and films for group sessions
  • Maintain professional standards and follow the treatment policies established by the JHC, federal, state, and local regulations; maintain professional boundaries with patients and staff
  • Conduct follow-up assessments on treatment programs designed for and undertaken by each patient
  • Coordinate with JHC staff of outside agencies and organizations to expedite treatment for each patient
  • Maintain accurate and current recordkeeping for each patient in accordance with the established electronic records system and all agency procedures and protocols (assessments, treatment plans, treatment procedures, and discharge summaries, etc.)
  • Prepare patient progress reports and completion notices and provide to all interfacing agencies to include courts, probation departments, and referral resources as appropriate
  • Participate in community educational programs on substance use disorder for the public, professional, and industrial groups
  • Maintain all requirements to ensure that SUDP licensure/certification remains current and in good standing
What are the Required Qualifications for this position?
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Certified as a Substance Use Disorder Professional in good standing with the State of Washington
  • Two (2) years of experience working in a clinical setting
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
  • Ability to work in a cross-culture environment, understands the social and cultural context of the patients at the JHC. Understands the role of trauma, historical, community, family, and personal experience in wellness and recovery
  • Understands and adheres to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR part 2). Applicants must always conduct self ethically and professionally
  • Effective communication; written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution
  • Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHRs)
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal Laws and Regulations
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to complete employer provided training upon
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background investigation
  • Uphold all current vaccine requirements for employment
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally as assigned
  • Valid Washington State Drivers License

MMU Dispensing Nurse II - RN

Jamestown Healing Clinic is seeking a dedicated and qualified Dispensing Nurse II to join our team on a temporary basis. This role involves working 4 days per week, with 3 days on our Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) and 1 day in the clinic. The position requires 10-hour days and provides high-quality patient care and medication dispensing services. This temporary position requires a commitment of at least 8 to 10 months, with the potential for extension based on program needs. As a Dispensing Nurse II-RN, you will play a vital role in providing healthcare services to rural and underserved communities in Clallam County, Washington. You will be responsible for administering medications as ordered by the Medical Provider, ensuring accurate medication record-keeping, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

As a Dispensing Nurse II - RN, you will:

  • Administer Methadone, Buprenorphine/Naloxone, or Monotherapy Buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex) as prescribed by the Medical Director and providers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all medication received and dispensed in compliance with DEA, FDA, and State Board of Pharmacy requirements.
  • Safeguard medication stock and ensure secure storage.
  • Conduct breath alcohol testing, urine specimen collection and processing, and accurately document results.
  • Measure and record patients’ vital signs, perform nursing-level physical assessments, and provide wound care as needed.
  • Educate patients on proper medication usage and its potential effects.
  • Assess patient physical conditions and report changes to medical providers.
  • Update patient prescriptions and medications in electronic health records.
  • Chart patient encounters and incidents accurately, maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and supplies, ensuring safety standards are met.
  • Follow all JHC policies and procedures, including those related to HIPAA and safety protocols.
  • Travel to local and regional sites as required, providing services at mobile unit locations and the primary clinic site in Sequim, WA.
  • Complete all required forms and documentation related to medication administration and other clinical procedures.
  • Foster positive relationships with patients and multidisciplinary team members in both clinical and mobile unit settings.

What are the Qualifications for this position?

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; current unrestricted RN license in Washington State.
  • 3 years of experience in a clinic setting.
  • Knowledge of substance use disorders and their impact on individuals, families, and communities.
  • Phlebotomy skills and experience in urine specimen collection.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds, understanding trauma and recovery dynamics.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to resolve conflicts.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems; experience with Epic and/or Methasoft preferred.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License, with the ability to travel locally and regionally.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to complete employer-provided training upon hire.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to healthcare and patient care.
